ESTABLISHMENT OF THE INSTITUTION:

"GOPABANDHU AYURVEDA MAHAVIDYALAYA, PURI” is one of the oldest and distinguished Ayurvedic Medical College of our Country.The institution was established in the year 1949. At first it was named as “Gopabandhu Ayurvedic Institute” & later on “Gopabandhu Ayurveda Vidyapeetha”, Puri & again it was renamed as “GOPABANDHU AYURVEDA MAHAVIDYALAYA, PURI” in the year 1971. This institute has been upgraded to the states of Model institute by Govt. of India for its high order academic activities & imparts teaching in U.G & P.G level.

At present this Medical college is offoring UG (BAMS) couress on 14 different subject and PG, PhD, DLit , DSc on 6 different Ayurvedic subjects.

This Institution has also been declared as Nodal Centre for Ph.D. (Ay.) study by the Utkal University from the Year 2010-11.

The area of this institution is ten acres of land. Within the campus one indoor Hospital, out-door, Office, Library, laboratory, Hostels(both ladies & Gents), herbal garden & Pharmacy etc. are functioning.
