The department is upgraded to Post Graduate standard in the year 1978.
Till date about 251 nos. of topics have been researched with scientific back ground & evaluated by the Utkal university by duly appointment eminent Prof. From different University of India. So far 251 nos. of PG degree has been awarded to scholar now working as AMO & lecture in Odisha as well as different part of country. It is worth noting some are working in the field on research set up run by govt. Of India.
This dept. provides teaching theory & practical to under graduate & post graduate students leading to BAMS & MD (Ay) in Kayachikitsa respectively.
A physiotherapy unit is functioning under the department of Kayachikitsa since 1991. It is facilitated with certain valuable instrument procured with the funds sanctioned by Govt. of India in the year 1991. It carefully handles 30 nos of OPD & IPD cases daily.
Various type of advanced physiotherapy instruments have been installed in this unit for the betterment of the patients.
